Rainy Days

How to deal

Today was going to be the day that the sun was going to shine so I could get some good lighting to take the pictures I wanted to take. By the time I got everything together and my equipment ready, the storms hit fiercely.

The fact that I was disappointed is and understatement. The disappointment was being in the house most of the day and trying to decide what I was going to do. There were several decisions for me to make there. I could do laundry, clean house, sweep the floors, but since my house doesn’t get that dirty anyway, I went another route as to how my day was to be planned.

Lazy Day

I decided, since I’ve been working so much, that today was going to be my lazy day. Knowing I have to go back to work tomorrow anyway, so why not. I laid around like most people, but I don’t watch much television ad read for a little while. That’s my second to the best hobby in the world. That was fine and relaxing for a little while until the urge hit me and I had to work on this and on the photos I have on my computer.

Being Constructive

I granted myself a lazy day, which I do more often than I should. Then it just hit me that I needed to go through my photos and get rid of the ones that weren’t any good or of use to me. If you’re not into photography, you really don’t realize how time-consuming this is. Yesterday when I was out taking pictures, I uploaded 1500 when my day was done. That’s as bad, if not worse than a school teacher grading papers back when I was in school and we didn’t have computers.

So I dragged out my computer, and went to work. Remember it’s not really work to me because it’s my passion driven by my desire to make something I want. I went through all my pictures from yesterday, and decided on the ones I wanted to keep.

I then went through some old pictures and played with them and added different lighting and came up with some really good pictures that started out darker before, when I took them. There were still some I could not fix so I tossed them. When I was finished with all of that, the sun finally decided to show itself.

The timing was wrong for what I wanted to do because I was losing the lighting, so I finally decided to relax for a while. My body needed it because since I didn’t get to go today, it was on overload and I felt overwhelmed. It’s easy to do when you have a task at hand that needs to be accomplished instead of being put off. I will tell you I can procrastinate quite a bit except when it comes to the work I love and desire. My Passion keeps me on an even keel because I know I will make myself happy and accomplish more than I ever thought I would.

Dropping the ball

So now you see that I did not drop the ball on today s project. I might not have finished what I wanted to get done, but I accomplished a lot more than I actually expected to. Having the desire to complete my passion kept me going through it all. If it were not for that, I would have had a lazy day today.

I have decided to incorporate more outdoor pictures in the ones I take if different themes. People love pictures and canvases. We as a group, by selling them, have to give them a wide variety and an array of stunning beautiful photos. One person may not like what the other is after and vice/versa. There’s a wide audience out there and I plan to have something for them all.

The more of a variety you have, the more of an audience you can reach. Do not feel afraid to make a separate Facebook page just for this. You have a private life, then you have a business. They do not need to run together because then, people might not want to deal with you because of the posts either you or someone else put on your pages. You do not need the negativity, The same should go for any account you have.

But always take the negative comments with the goods one. Do not let them bring you down, because you will self-destruct that way. Instead, think of it as constructive criticism, and turn it around in your favor. Not everyone is into the same thing as you are and let that be. Do what you love and enjoy. That’s what makes you happy.

This is where we also do not drop the ball. Stay positive and good things will come your way. I plan for them to come my way. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. All that matters is you and your happiness. Have the desire, passion, and drive to do something you love. I do.

Today’s theme: Be Always constructive, even when you don’t want to be. There will be the day when you can do as you please, have that lazy day or 2, or even decide to travel and take this job with you to be able to work when you do or do not want to work. Work hard now, it pays off later, when we shall soon find out.

I just recently moved home, found this to help me succeed, and plan on making my life the best it can be, because I want to do what I want and need to do. There’s no stopping me. I do not care if it takes me years. But my goal is 3 months to make money with all the things I can do and in 6 months, if I want to travel, that’s what I will do.

Much Success

This is an inspiring post. I have my lazy days too, but I try to make the best of it, and do something, even on those days. Actually, I have a lazy day now, but I will try to do something. In this case it will be doing my garden, and make pictures of it. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing with us, like I said, it is inspiring.

I love rainy days for a lot of reasons, one of which is that they give me a chance to catch up on tasks that I may have been putting off for far too long. The patter of the rain as it falls provides a calming effect for me as I do this neglected work, and it somehow is an activity I enjoy.

It is a good time to do a lot of things like reflecting where you are and where you want to be. Often in the day to day routines that we all find ourselves immersed in, we do not take the time to reflect and determine the next steps strategically that we need to take for our life or business.

You are right that there is a time to be lazy and enjoy doing nothing, but a rainy day may or may not be the time to do that. There are constructive activities that we can get done while still enjoying the moments that a rainy day affords. Some of my best ideas (I think anyway) have come during rainy days…

An interesting take on your rainy day and thanks for sharing this with us. It can provide inspiration for that next rainy day that we will face sooner or later. We can better plan for what to do when it arises, and feel like we made things happen, in spite of the rain.

We all love rainy days for different reasons. Mainly because they are relaxing and soothing. The sound calms me a lot and that’s when I can start to reflect and usually when that happens, I enjoy the rainy day long with the task I have put forth for myself.

      Thank You very much,=.

      It’s appreciated,

    Hey Sherrane,

This is really an unique and informative article. I have also great affection towards photography and film making and I love to take outdoor photos. But in that case weather and other elements effect so much. Even I do not like to take photos in gloomy days as pictures become noisy and less detailed. I appreciate your tips on dealing this kind of problems which will be helpful in being more constructive and productive. I will keep all of your tips in mind.
